In-N-Out

For the freshest burgers known to man, the Californian classic that is In-N-Out is a must do. They pride themselves on their freshness and only the best ingredients, and all at a super cheap price point. It is an institution and must be tried at least once. I may be a semi-regular at In-N-Out when in California.  With hamburgers starting at $2.10 and fries at $1.60, I challenge you not to return!

Pink’s Hot Dogs

For another type of fast food where you can expect a line, head to Pink’s Hot Dogs. Exactly what it says on the tin, Pink’s are world famous for their hot dogs, with a variety on offer. Save yourself a second line up and just grab 2.

Polo Club at Beverly Hills Hotel

For those who like some more expensive fare, you can go all classy at the Polo Club at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The hotel itself is famed and a popular spot for celebs, and the Polo Club serves up the sort of fare fit for a celebrity!  Best described as classic American, you can expect a hearty meal and you won’t be left hungry. You might have a few less Benjamins in your wallet, but I’d say it’s well worth it. Finish your dinner with the chocolate souffle if available – hot tip, you’ll only need to share one between two.

Nobu

For something really special and with a spectacular view to boot, head to Nobu at Malibu. Bookings are absolutely essential, and you’ll want to request a table outside so you can watch the waves crashing. Not sure what to pick? The incredibly attentive staff will steer you in the direction of giving your palate a meal of complete umami sensations. Great food and great view, and a wonderful destination for a celebration (my birthday for our visit!).

Seriously good Japanese at Nobu, with drinks and views to boot.

Bestia

Located in a former warehouse in DTLA (don’t let the basic warehouse exterior put you off!). It’s underground style surroundings mask a most amazing eating experience. Italian inspired, you’ll struggle if you’re not a meat eater, but relish the opportunity to dine here if you are. The bone marrow if a scene for senses, and there isn’t a dish on the menu that will disappoint. Be sure to keep some room for dessert which is equally fantastic.
